Nearly Wild Camping Experience, 22nd - 24th September

An opportunity to spend a weekend with the talented Tara Crank. For those that know her, this can only mean a great social event. A bit of foraging, fusion cooking and of course acoustic music, in a bushcraft setting.

WhatÔÇÖs not to like?

We are still sorting the specifics but as with our other themed social camps this will be a combination of socialising, learning from one another and some guided experiences from Tara.

Tara has a particular interest in experimential learning outdoors. She entwines this with her fascination for natural processes in her work teaching bushcraft skills and as a wildlife and conservation educator. She enhances this as a keen Welsh learner by incorporating vocabulary around nature. Tara has a masterÔÇÖs degree in Outdoor Education, specialising in technologyÔÇÖs potential to promote reconnection to unique natural places. In her mind, this is essential to repair and recreate our relationship with the natural environment. Her more recent ventures involve blending Welsh forages with flavours from her Gujarati culture; and she is about to embark on her PhD journey, studying how a Community Green Health Hub can be used to promote health and ecoliteracy.┬á

About the weekend:
During the weekend, we will progress intuitively through a harmonious mix of ways to interact, observe, experience and be with the natural world. Some of this will involve foraging and cooking….but most importantly eating some delicious fusion food. Tara will include cultural cooking ethos as part of this so you can see her perspective on flavour. Other elements will involve artistic and musical ways to represent and share nature; wildlife spotting/informative discussions; and practical bushcraft skills.
