┬áNearly Wild Camping Experience Weekend –
Landscape Photography with
BENJAMIN BARENDRECHT
Friday 7th to Sunday 9th June
Capturing the Landscape with Benjamin Barendrecht
Ben breathes mountains. When heÔÇÖs not working on the hill, heÔÇÖs photographing them, thinking about how the light plays in the depiction of the landscape before him, planning when exactly to head up for the perfect combination of weather, light and shadow.
Photography is, for Ben, all about storytelling. In the act of setting up an image – choosing which feature will foreground a still and which will set as the background is the creation of a kind of narrative in which Ben is well-versed. It is a process that has become part of both his personal and professional life, and one he is keen to share.
In this Nearly Wild Camping Experience Weekend you can learn how to photograph the landscape. Ben will teach us everything from photography basics to how to improve on your existing skills. The best part? Anyone with a camera can join in ÔÇô even if you come simply with a phone camera.
ÔÇ£The weekend will be about photographing the natural world in order to understand the relationship between us as the photographer and everything that is around us,ÔÇØ says Ben.

Anyone who saw BenÔÇÖs Nearly Wild Camping Winter Talk (and itÔÇÖs not too late to watch back here) will know just what an engaging presenter Ben is. The delight with which he talks about the natural world is infectious and inspiring, and we are sure this weekend will be an unmissable one.
For this weekend, Ben will be taking a break from the Scottish mountains and heading south to join us in the Lake District, between Haweswater and Swindale, at the Nearly Wild Camping Location, Rosgill Hall. Complete with woodlands, farmland and cart-pulling horse, this Cumbrian location and its surrounds will make for perfect photography subjects.

This is not designed as a formal training course, but as a learning experience where you can get started and learn some basics in an informal, sociable environment. If you want to miss some sessions, relax or just have time alone, you can. This is not about passing a test, itÔÇÖs about informal learning.
Booking for this weekend is essential, and will cost £20 per adult with under 15s free to attend the experience. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  This fee is non-refundable. The camp pitch or other accommodation IS NOT included within this fee, so you should book directly with the location provider for this.

We hope to see you there!
Adult ticket for Satori Experience Camp Weekend £20
Child ticket for Satori Experience Camp Weekend £0
NOTE: We have made the decision to charge for the weekend for three reasons:
- The additional income will allow us to host more events
- Feedback from attending members has suggested we should charge a small fee in recognition of what they tell us is ÔÇÿincredible valueÔÇÖ
- In our trials last year 50% of those members who booked did not actually attend, this took up places that could have been booked by other members. Obviously, this is both harder for organisation but also unfair to other members. To try and avoid this it has been suggested a small charge will help avoid this.
- The £20 fee is non-refundable.
