Tucked away behind an industrial estate and surrounded by woodland this peaceful oasis is the perfect escape from everyday life…  Offering a mixture of open field and woodland camping plus the ability to do some day or night fishing onsite (included in the camping fee). If you don’t have your own rod then you can use one of theirs. Wildness rating: 3  Suitable for tents, hammocks, campervans and 4x4s.  Location: Stoke-on-Trent

A small family farm located in the North Yorks Moors National Park in the valley of the River Derwent.
We keep sheep, goats and poultry. We have our own beautiful spring water. Tents may be pitched in a field close to the farmhouse or in several more remote locations by the river. 4   yes   Location: North Yorkshire

A 48 acre organic holding nestled in the heart of the Devon countryside. The ancient wildflower meadows are managed for their wildlife value and visitors can pitch their tents in one of two spots with designated camp fires. A great place for families with woodland and fields to explore, and as a base for the wider attractions. With no near neighbours and dark night skies, you can really get a sense of being close to nature. 4   Location: Devon

If tranquility, being off grid and close to nature appeals, just 12 pitches set within 50 acres, our farm is situated between forest, rivers, and countryside. Views in every direction are stunning. We are very remote, and have no close neighbours. There is plenty of wildlife: ducks, a ‘resident’ heron, kites, bats, badgers and even otters have been spotted to name just a few. Location: Powys   Wildness rating: 4

An area of woodland just outside Cardiff, with a clearing large enough for a few tents. Obviously there are trees for hammocks too! There is a fire pit in the clearing and a shelter with a tin roof and cordwood walls. You can just relax in the woods, listen to the birds and the insects or go and explore the surrounding area. You will usually be the only campers and we will try to tell you if there are others booked on the same nights.   5

Site can only accommodate a handful of small tents and the access is quite steep and challenging but campers are rewarded with wonderful views, clean sanitation and hot indoor and outdoor showers. There is safe parking in our yard and your luggage is then transported up to the camping field in my trusty John Deere ‘Gator’. No need to suffer angina or heart attacks! Throughout the year the scenery is breathtaking and incredibly varied.  2  Location: Cumbria
